Shared Cluster plans now available in Google’s Belgium region

We're excited to announce that we are now offering Shared Cluster plans in Google Cloud Platform's Belgium (europe-west1) region. Google users who host their applications in Belgium can now provision low-latency, budget-friendly production MongoDB databases in the same region. Visit mLab's create deployment wizard if you'd like to create a new Shared Cluster database.

For a full list of supported cloud providers and regions, you can visit our documentation portal at http://docs.mlab.com/plans/#cloud-providers.

Shared plans provide a single database with 1 GB storage (expandable to 8 GB) on a dedicated mongod server process running on a shared VM. A Shared plan is an economical way to run MongoDB if you have a smaller dataset and lighter workload. This plan is multi-tenanted which means you share your infrastructure and its resources (CPU, RAM, disk, I/O) with others.

Shared Cluster plans are good for:

  • Smaller datasets
  • Lighter workloads
  • Low-budget projects
  • Development
